Garden Store Cashier
Cashiers are the key to providing world-class customer service here at Molbak’s, and they have more interaction with our customers than almost any other job in the company. Last impressions last a lifetime, and our Cashiers do a great job of making sure customers leave satisfied with their experience, and with everything they came to buy and more! Previous cashiering experience is preferred, but the ability to learn quickly and to work standing, lifting and bending over the course of an eight hour shift is required. Status: Seasonal full and part time, including some weekend and evening shifts
Live Goods Sales
The live goods sales team member provides excellent service to our customers, offering friendly, informative and insightful inspiration. Solid knowledge of Puget Sound horticultural and gardening practices as it relates to nursery plants, woody ornamentals, perennials and/or annuals, as well as insects and diseases, is preferred. Our goal in sales is to make each customer feel welcome, and to do everything we can to exceed their expectations every time they visit. The key to success in this role is to make sure every customer goes home with everything they need to be successful in their gardens and homes. The live goods sales team member reports to the live goods sales manager. Master Gardener or CPH preferred. Status: Seasonal full and including weekend and evening shifts
Live Goods Green Team
The Live Goods Green Team staff is responsible for supporting all of Live Goods Plant areas which include Nursery Plants, Annuals & Perennial Plants , and the Indoor/Tropical Plants. The job responsibilities are receiving, stocking, watering and maintaining all plant products. This is a great job for people who love working with plants and who are eager to expand their horticultural knowledge. The ability to repeatedly lift and move objects weighing between 30 and 80 lbs is a requirement. Status: Seasonal Full-Time and Part-Time, including some weekend shifts
Statuary and Containers Sales Associate
Our Statuary and Containers Department specializes in providing fabulous and distinctive products for the garden, including water features, bronze sculptures, trellises, large pots and many other great accessories. The Statuary & Containers Sales Associate works with our customers to achieve the unique look they want for their outdoor spaces, and merchandises related products across all retail departments. Status: Seasonal part-time, some weekend and evening shifts required.
Greeter’s
The purpose of the greeter is to welcome customers to Molbak’s, to help get them oriented and on their way and to make them want to return. The Door Greeter personally acknowledges and welcomes customers as they enter/exit the store. They hand out maps, carts, events listing and directs customers to the correct department. They will perform other duties as assigned, examples may include, but are not limited to; assisting other staff as needed; and retrieval of shopping carts. Status: Seasonal Full-Time including some weekend shifts.
Customer Support
The Customer Support Team is key in providing first line service to our customers. This is a job full of variety, from helping customers load their vehicles to delivering product to the sales floor. All of our internal departments count on Customer Support to help them meet the needs of our employees and customers on a daily basis. Status: Seasonal Part-Time, including some weekend shifts.

Everlasting Floral Designer
Molbak’s, the Northwest’s premier Garden and Home retailer, is seeking a talented, energetic and experienced Everlasting Floral designer to join our Everlasting team.
The Everlasting Floral Designer is responsible for developing unique and exciting designs to entice our customers during all key seasons and holidays. Our designers will be required to use their artistic talents and creative eye to provide our customers with new and unique everlasting floral designs for every occasion and style of home décor. The Everlasting Floral Designer must have the ability to actively engage and educate customers on our extensive everlasting inventory, including a large variety of plant material and other decorative items in the department and throughout the store. The Everlasting Floral Designer will report directly to the Everlasting Manager.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create unique and innovative designs for customers, interpreting their design requests, resulting in excellent product and high customer satisfaction
- Fulfill custom orders efficiently and properly: receiving, interpreting, designing, executing and following through to final sale.
- Meet established production goals for custom and standard designs, including seasonal arrangements
- Receive, unpack and organize back stock of product and supplies, maintaining a neat and orderly work area
- Produce design work in a cost conscious, productive and efficient manner according to established design standards.
- Demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of the principles and elements of design
- Exhibit a strong desire to grow creatively and enhance self-development of innovative design.
- Assist with sales and stocking product on the floor; assist with merchandise displays and other related tasks as necessary
- Assist with scheduled inventories and other duties as assigned by the manager
- Accurately complete all required records and other related paperwork
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum three years floral design experience; fresh floral design background preferred with at least one year of artificial design experience
- Ability to represent Molbak’s in a professional manner to clients.
- Ability to work with customers in a large group setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and strong verbal/written communication skills; ability to appropriately prioritize tasks and respond to changing work related requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work standing, bending, walking and lifting; ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 30 lbs.
Education, Certification and Training
- Floral school courses and or previous floral experience strongly preferred.
- Possess thorough knowledge of everlasting floral material
Work Environment:
- Design workroom and retail sales floor environment. Some exposure to extremes in temperature.

Visual Merchandiser - Live Goods
Visual Merchandising is a critical means of communicating the Molbak's brand and point of view to our customers. The Visual Merchandising team at Molbak's is responsible for planning, creating, coordinating, monitoring and measuring compelling, effective displays throughout the store. This is a hands-on job requiring both an eye for design as well as the ability to bring those designs to life. The visual merchandiser must be adept at managing both projects and resources effectively and creatively. The visual merchandiser also needs to be able to inspire and engage our employees as well as our customers with their approach. This position reports to the head of Products and Marketing.
This particular position works most closely with Live Goods and is responsible for creating visual displays throughout the nursery, garden plants, and indoor plant departments. As such, horticultural knowledge and familiarity with landscape design principles will be beneficial.
Primary Areas of Responsibility
- Work closely with the Buyers, Marketing and Retail Staff to build powerful and effective displays to inspire customers and move key products in support of the company sales plan.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends in merchandising and display - take chances and risks - research creative new display ideas.
- Create a clear schedule and plan for each display to include timing for changing out display and product. Need to be able to provide a written display plan that others can execute and maintain.
- Measure and report on the success of each display and build on the successes, learn from results.
- Create and adhere to a budget for the visual merchandising team and maintain props and materials to re-use as possible.
- Establish and maintain a master visual display calendar and schedule that looks out 6 months ahead and integrates the entire store.
- Work with the Marketing department on major displays, special projects and incorporating the overall brand vision and retail themes into the various displays.
- Work with departmental floor staff to train them on how to create and keep up displays to the Molbak's standard. Act as a display resource for assigned departments - work with floor staff to teach, advise and support.
- When working on the sales floor, visual merchandising team is expected to help with customer service as they are able to ensure that customers have a great Molbak's experience.

- Solid horticultural knowledge and comfort identifying environmental requirements for various plants.
- Exceptional writing, verbal and presentation skills
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Publisher and Outlook
- Landscape design background is a plus
- Retail customer service experience preferred
- Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 60 lbs. and to work standing, walking, bending and lifting over the course of a full eight hour workday
Work Environment
- Indoor and Outdoor retail and greenhouse environments - this position will be working extensively with plants (indoor and outdoor plants); building displays will require lifting and moving 5-10 gallon trees and shrubs.
- Some exposure to extremes in temperature and weather - can be very hot, cold, windy or wet.

Garden Hard Goods Manager
Molbak’s, the Northwest’s premier Garden and Home retailer, is seeking the right individual to join our Woodinville store management team to grow our Lawn & Garden and Statuary & Container business as the Garden Hard Goods Manager. The Garden Hard Goods Manager will lead the department by building a team and working closely with staff to develop their skills, manage daily merchandise flow, provide great customer service, bringing the Molbak's brand to life. The Garden Hard Goods Manager will lead the strategic planning process for the department, taking feedback from peers and subordinates to help create annual plans. The manager will work closely with other teams to insure proper coordination of effort between groups.
The Garden Hard Goods Manager will report directly to the Retail Operation Director. This position will directly supervise the daily work of the Lawn & Garden staff, Statuary and Container staff, and will oversee the daily supervision of the Garden Store Cashiers and Customer Service staff.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
- Build and lead an effective and enthusiastic team.
- Hire and train core and seasonal staff throughout the year.
- Develop and implement department training.
- Empower staff with proper product knowledge and merchandising skills
- Stock and display inventory.
- Work closely with buyer to maintain proper stock levels to support salesSet daily priorities for department staff.
- Support other leads and departments as needed.
- Troubleshoot issues and quickly implement solutions related to both product, staff and customers
- Communicate well with all staff members.
- Create high levels of customer satisfaction with great customer service, selling skills and product knowledge by bringing the Molbak's brand to life.
- Successfully set, implement, and manage the department’s sales, labor and expense budgets.
- Track and respond appropriately to daily and weekly labor & sales reports, and inventory reports.
- Complete appropriate inventory adjustments.
- Plan, coordinate and implement seasonal projects in conjunction with buyer and visual merchandising teams
- Spend at least 75% of time active on the sales floor, supervising operations, helping customers, and monitoring employee and customer interaction.
- Help develop, support, and implement Molbak's marketing plans
- Have an excellent working knowledge of the POS system and be able to check out customers as needed during peak traffic periods
- Support CRM and loyalty programs.
- Act as "manager on duty" 2-3 times per week, having store-wide responsibility for opening, closing, customer service, and ad hoc staff scheduling
- Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedure within the department and company
Qualified Candidates will:
- Have strong knowledge of retail operations
- Will work well in a team environment; have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to individuals across all levels of the company.
- Be willing and able to work in this physically demanding role, working both inside and outside in all weather conditions, and being on your feet all day
- Be able to work both weekend days and extended hours during peak seasons and one weekend day during slower seasons
- Be able to repeatedly lift up to 30 pounds.
- Be able to be trained for forklift driving.
- Will live the brand, support the culture and maintain a high level of energy.
- Education, certification and/or Training
- 5 years experience as a retail manager, managing core and seasonal staff with multiple shifts.
- Customer service and selling experience required
- Demonstrated interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
- 4 year degree, or equivalent, in business or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point), POS, and merchandising systems
