Molbak’s Christmas Trees are a year ‘round labor of love for our team and our growers. Burton Christmas Tree Farm is one of our growers who is dedicated to growing the freshest, longest-lasting and most sustainably farmed trees in our region.
This summer we took a trip with our buyer, Amy, to Burton’s Farm as she hand-picked the trees for our holiday season.
The Burton family tradition of growing trees began in 1949 with Charley Burton and has become a multi-generational business with Howard and Kay Burton managing the farm since 1999.
Kay Burton and Amy tag trees for Molbak’s. They’ve found the perfect 14’ tree. Beautiful!
At Burton’s, all of the trees are hand pruned – from top to bottom – giving them a natural shape with plenty of room for lights, ornaments and garlands (we were thinking those stilts would be really handy to have when its time to hang the lights!)
This year some of our favorite types of trees fresh from the Burton Christmas Tree Farm are:
Burton Blue Noble Fir
This signature namesake tree has all the characteristics of a noble, but is distinctly blue. Charley Burton developed this tree in 1949 and the family continues to grow this tree today.
A holiday favorite with stiff branches and deep green needles. An iconic Pacific Northwest Christmas tree.
A Christmas classic. Dense branches, rounder in shape, with upright needles.
The underside of the needles on this fir flash a bit of silver depending on the angle on this full tree.
We have trees of all sizes and our team is ready to help you find the perfect one for your home.
Happy Holidays from Molbak’s Garden + Home and Burton’s Christmas Tree Farm!
